This is a role within the Emergency Assistance team of a well known and respected Travel Insurance provider where your primary responsibility is to provide assistance to your customers in their time of need regardless where they are in the world.

An experienced member of staff once described this role as being like calling 111 but from overseas.

The company offers 24/7 assistance to it’s customers and as such the hours for this role are 3, 12 hour shifts that rotates through both day and night shifts.

The role is for an initial 9 month contract but with the view it will be extended or made permanent for successful candidates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for our customers at their time of need and provide reassurance and a positive customer experience.
  • Understand the customers situation and be able to act quickly and efficiently to organise the necessary care in accordance with their policy.
  • Maintain the mentality of process improvement and look for opportunities to build a more efficient way of working.
  • Liaise with global providers to obtain medical reports and negotiate medical expenses and cost containment.
  • Effectively manage an allocated case load and ensure deadlines and KPI’s are met.
  • Keep open communication with your colleagues to ensure service standards are maintained across the team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience with every interaction.
  • Empathetic to the customers situation during stressful and emotional times.
  • A kind and caring person that genuinely cares for others well-being.
  • High attention to detail as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to keep a calm head in highly emotional situations and work to deadlines.
  • Will have experience working in a phone based role, ideally within a high volume contact centre environment.
