Job Description
Job Summary
A Senior Chef is required for this busy and popular hotel in Seymour, Victoria, an hour north of Melbourne. This position would best suit an experienced chef who has the passion and skills to maintain the high standard of food production around which we have built an excellent reputation. We have a 7 day roster, and days and hours are negotiable. Accommodation is available, if required, as part of the remuneration and the position is available immediately.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Senior Chef would be responsible for:
- maintaining consistently high product quality
- developing menus and dishes
- leading, mentoring and motivating a small team
- maintaining safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- stock ordering and control/rotation
- training and development of kitchen staff
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate would possess the following personal qualities:
- a passion for food and the creativity and skills to give customers food that exceeds their expectations
- the ability to lead positive way, guide and encourage to bring out the best in others
- effective communication skills
- efficient time management
- initiative
- a good sense of humour
- be organised, reliable and have a strong work ethic
- have relevant trade qualifications and/or a minimum of 6 years’ experience
- have full working rights in Australia
