The Wy Yung Pub is one of Bairnsdale's most iconic landmarks. Established in 1863, the pub is a local's favourite. Located three hours East of Melbourne in beautiful East Gippsland, it offers country life with good access to the perks of the city.
Operating hours are 7 days per week for lunch and dinner, with a 120-seat restaurant as well as an outdoor deck plus picnic tables. You will be required to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays.
The new owners purchased the pub over two years ago. Many parts of the building have been newly renovated (including the commercial kitchen).
Job tasks and responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be but not limited to
Be Trade Qualified in Commercial Cookery Cert 3 or equivalent
Maintain a high level of food quality and presentation
Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
Create and/or assist with implementation of menus
Demonstrate leadership and communication
Work well under pressure with an even temperament
Ability to manage ordering, dish costing, stock levels, budgets and suppliers
Skills and experience:
Beneficial to the role previous experience managing and leading a team, including rostering and training
