La Sen Vietnamese Restaurant in Randwick is currently seeking for a qualified chef to take control of our busy kitchen. You must be hard working, organised, creative, and passionate about Vietnamese cuisine. You will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and also able to work unsupervised.

Please note that the candidates have to be in Australia to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Expert wok skills & a strong background in Asian cuisine
• Managing a small size team 
• Assist owner in modifying menus and creating new ones for restaurant/catering
• Attention to details
• Adhere to recipes and procedures as outlined by the headchef/owner
• Having full knowledge of every menu item from start to finish
• Ensure the restaurant meets all the regulatory requirements, including sanitary and safety guidelines             

Skills and Experiences:

• Hold relevant tertiary qualifications Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery, or Diploma of Hospitality/Advanced Diploma of Hospitality 
• Relevant experience minimum 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) working as Wok Chef in Asian Restaurant
• Experience in a reputable Asian restaurants would be advantageous
• Experience in preparing food for catering and events
• Passionate about traditional Vietnamese cuisine and can create new Vietnamese dishes
• Attention to details
• Remain calm under pressure in a fast pace environment
• The ability to effectively and efficiently co-ordinate and work as part of the team
• Strong experience with ordering procedures
• Ability to lead, train and inspire your team instilling the principles of the owner
• Fluent in food safety and hygiene systems
• Excellent communication skills, time and resource management
