About the Role
  
As a Restaurant Manager, you are a vital support to the Director and a representative of Corporate Services. You must be able to anticipate the needs of customers beyond expectations and drive the staff around you to perform at their best. The tasks listed below require you to show a sense of responsibility and maturity. You will need to demonstrate efficient organisational and planning skills to ensure the high standards of food, service, and health & safety are maintained as expected by the companies corporate services. You will need to be young & dynamic & be able to support & connect with your staff team who are young & enthusiastic.
  
Key responsibilities will include:
  • To work in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Services to ensure adequate and appropriate staff resources are available to effectively manage all client services.
  • To establish and maintain strong business working relationships with Management, Employees and Customers ensuring regular contact and communication.
  • Assist in the training, development and motivation of all front of house staff.
  • Meet all company administration and reporting requirements.
  • To create and instil a belief in customer service so as to ensure that customer expectations are met and exceeded.
  • To manage efficient and effective team performance.
  • To manage and monitor staff during service.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs and aim to exceed these requirements.
  • Promote efficiency and company standards.
  • Demonstrate positive and assertive leadership styles.
  • Appropriately handle any customer conflicts or issues that may arise
  • Allocation of duties and tasks during each session.
  • Opening and closing of the restaurant
  • Briefing of staff & team leaders before service
  • Handling and settling of bills during the seating and keeping accurate records of sales through each seating session.
  • Cash management – correct balancing of till and sales
  • Formulating electronic rosters
  • Complete all Company Compliance, Policy and Operational Training
  • Maintaining a good level of presentation for yourself, and floor staff, in line with the company policy on uniform & presentation.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Attending regular meetings with management and host regular meetings with staff and supervisors.
  • Completion of accurate invoices and accounts as required from time to time in a timely manner.
  • Any additional reasonable requests outlined by management.
To be successful for this role you must have the following:
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience managing teams 15-40 people in a similar role.
  • The ability to lead, mentor & train staff
  • Very well presented & well spoken
  • Ability to take instruction & lead a team
  • Strong administration skills including budgets, reports & electronic rostering systems (Point of Sale software experience & online rostering)
  • Knowledge of Work, Health & Safety Compliance
  • The ability to manage costs & ensure budgets are achieved
  • Food & beverage knowledge
  • Be available to work nights & days of the week including Public Holidays
  • Excellent communication & organisations skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good food & wine knowledge
  • Passionate and reliable approach to your work
