Outback Aussie Tours is seeking an experienced cook/Sous Chef who is looking for a unique opportunity in Outback Queensland, Longreach. The successful applicant will be working alongside our Head Chef at our various hospitality sites, including our Cafe, Outback Dinner & Show as well as catering for private events and tours. 

About this role:

• Fixed Term seasonal contract (July 2018 - November 2018)
• Accommodation provided at Smithy's site 
• Shifts will be split over our two hospitality sites (Cafe & Outback Dinner & Show)

• Shifts include days, evenings and weekends

The successful applicant duties will include but are not limited to:

• Preparation and cooking for our Outback Dinner and Show – Canapes & 3 Course Meal
• Preparation & cooking for our in-town Café
• Preparation and cooking for offsite catering
• Private events catering
• Stock & consumables ordering 
• Kitchen hand duties 

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience in the cooking/kitchen industry
• The ability to work autonomously for most of the time & work efficiently unsupervised
• A strong passion for food and food presentation
• An open mind to working in a unique camp kitchen
• A good knowledge in portion control, stock control & ordering
• The ability to work within a team and be a team player
• The ability to adhere to and maintain the food safety compliance program
• Good personal presentation
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
