Great opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a popular modern pub venue in Sydney CBD, which is about to launch a brand new rooftop bar. 

High volume a la carte service and function catering are the focus of the venue's food business. A modern gastro pub menu is offered for busy lunch service Monday to Friday and 6 nights per week (closed on Sundays). Meaning kitchen rosters rotate plus the whole team has every Sunday off. 

We are seeking a talented and passionate hands-on Head Chef to be responsible for kitchen operations. You will lead a small team of professional chefs & kitchen staff. You will be responsible for managing cost controls, quality & consistency, kitchen rosters, stock and menu design. You will enjoy using your creative skills in developing seasonal modern pub dishes, catering for corporate events, pop-up bar menus and venue promotions.

Key Requirements are:

  • Minimum 5 years experience at Head Chef level. Experience as Head Chef in a similar venue preferred.  
  • Exceptional food quality and presentation. Creative and passionate with attention to detail & commitment to consistency, compliance and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams, effectively managing cost controls, multiple outlets & menus.
  • Capable and organized through high volume service, diligent with procedures.
  • Positive professional attitude, hard working hands-on approach bringing the best out of your team. 
  • Relevant Qualifications including HACCP and WH&S compliance.
  • Excellent communication and service skills.

The venue has a newly renovated and popular high volume bar, function rooms and is soon to launch a brand new rooftop bar which you will have the opportunity to contribute to with your own stamp on menus. You will join a great team of experienced chefs, supportive management and friendly front of house staff.
