Club Berowra (RSL) is located just 20 mins from the Central Coast, which is a perfect location for those living on the Central Coast or those residing in Sydney! The Club is located across the road from the Railway station with excellent public transport services. 

The Club houses 45 gaming machines, 3,000 members, multiple bars, TAB, two outdoor smoking/gaming areas, with Bistro and Function rooms operated internally.  The Club represents the heart of a growing local community. 

The Club's members, guests and stakeholders are at the core of what the Club does.  The Board of Directors believe that culture and values are critically important to their continued success and therefore would like to employ a CEO who is also values driven. The Board consider that they are a collaborative, friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoy working with each other. 

The Club employed a Consultant over the past months to lead the Club forward and set the scene for a permanent CEO to take the reins with confidence.

With this in mind, the Club are seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to take the lead.

The successful applicant will understand the challenges, opportunities and approaches that come with managing a hospitality business in a small, tight knit community.  You will have experience in leading a small diverse team of Managers and staff and have the ability to build a culture of accountability, professionalism and pride. You will be willing to become a part of the fabric of the Club and be visible and available to Members.

You will work with a supportive Board of nine dedicated members and be able to work with them to drive change for the Club.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Lead and motivate staff to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing teams
  • Strong focus on developing and empowering employees to build a culture of professionalism and customer centricity
  • Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Make high-quality investment recommendations and decisions to advance the business and increase profits
  • Enforce the adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the organisations legality and business ethics
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
  • Build trusted relationships with key partners and stakeholders acting as a point of contact for important stakeholders
  • Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure organisational productivity, efficiency and growth
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and depth of the organisation and use this to further develop strategy and recommend investments.

You will bring:

  • Proven management experience ideally within hospitality
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
  • Strong understanding of hospitality financials and performance management principles
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with eBet, King St, B-Pos and Tanda an advantage
  • RSA and RCG Certificates
  • Flexibility to work across 7 days and nights as the business demands
  • Qualification related to hospitality/business management desirable.
