We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to join our friendly and professional team at the Villa Noosa Hotel.

As our Sous Chef, you will be part of a small team of chefs that assists our Head Chef in the daily running of our bistro. As Sous Chef you will share responsibility of ordering, rostering, stocktaking and have strong input in menu development, as well as making sure that all sections are prepped and ready to the highest of standards. This role would suit someone who is eager to progress to the next level of responsibility and leadership within the kitchen and has a genuine passion for the industry

The potential candidate must have  - 

  • Bistro / Hotel / casual dining background
  • Ability to work lunch, dinner and weekends on a rotating roster
  • Leadership skills
  • Eagerness to be an enthusiastic member of our team
  • A positive attitude, presentation and professional work ethic
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with staff and guests
  • Attention to deatail
  • Flexible availability over a 7 day rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Pride in work and guest experience
  • Demonstration to proactively contribute to team culture and have a "team first" approach
  • Well organised
  • Solid knowledge of food products, service, stock keeping, ordering and operation
  • A "can do" attitude and willingness to help the team reach the goals
  • Ability to liaise with Head Chef and Venue Manager to ensure the venue is reaching its operational goals
  • Ability to build rapport with other employees, as well as the ability to lead the team in the absence of the head chef
  • The desire to lead by example and set a high standard for their staff at all times
