We are currently recruiting:

  • Multi Skilled Travel Consultants: Day time role (Shifts sometime between 7am to 7pm)
  • Afterhours Travel Consultants: Night time role (Shifts ending after 2am)

 

Summary 
The Travel Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional service and assistance with all (domestic & international) aspects of business travel requirements to our Corporate Travel Customers.

Travel Consultants are expected to utilize their industry, product and destination knowledge to effectively and efficiently provide quotes and booking services to these travelers via email and phone.  Strive to offer appropriate services or products to customers or solve problems and provide solutions on a customer's first contact with American Express. 

Reports to: Operations Leader  

Location: Sydney 

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Fulfill Customer's Corporate Domestic & International travel requirements within defined travel polices through all streams of booking processes (phone, email)
  • Analyze fare and routing alternatives to provide best fare of the day options on all travel itineraries in line with customer requirements
  • Be trained across all travel tools available at American Express GBT including, but not limited to, Sabre, Great Call Experience, point of sale processing tools
  • Manage prioritization of workload and communicate to team leader or colleagues when outside of agreed SLA metric for further assistance.
  • Ensure customer service levels are met
  • Maintain productivity in line with KPIs, ensuring high quality error free transactions, maximize use of American Express Global Business Travel's Preferred Supplier program 

 

What Are We Looking For? 

  • A preference for a minimum of 2 years' corporate or retail travel experience 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent Customer service skills in a travel environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills including multi-tasking and prioritizing of workload 
  • Fares & Ticketing knowledge – including RTW and complex fares
  • Knowledge of products including car hire, hotels and rail
  • Domestic & International destination/geographical knowledge
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of international travel notifications and guidelines as per government/client rulings
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to multi-task and work efficiently whilst ensuring maximum quality
  • An ability to adapt communication style to the audience, communicate confidently, accuracy and has ability to lead the traveler (or travel booker) to desired outcomes
  • An ability to adapt to change
  • Work across teams and departments
  • A passion for service
