The Highlights
The Group Experience Manager is accountable for the leadership and direction of the venue management teams to ensure that each business is providing an exceptional guest experience. Critical to this role is the accountability for the venue experience, performance and results. Acting as the conduit between venue and head office the purpose of the role is to generate growth through creativity, collaboration, the right commercial decisions and tight controls.

As a leader, the individual is to influence and inspire the performance of the venue managers, so that they are developing within their roles. This role requires a strong presence and connection to each of the venues, the capacity to manage a large portfolio and the ability to make decisions with a customer and commercial lens.

The Day-to-day
  • Accountable for driving results and monitoring key metrics across the venue portfolio. Providing solutions to the general manager on any areas that are not performing in their business.
  • Building a forum to extract creative ideas, concepts and identifying new markets that will drive profitability across the businesses.
  • Developing and building the capability of the general manager to ensure they have a progression plan.
  • Ensuring that we are building a strong foundation by embedding discipline around procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all venues are compliant with any regulatory obligation, compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Building strong relationships across the whole business and working collaboratively to drive success.
  • Responsible for providing oversight and empowering teams in venue. 
  • Leader of change across the businesses.
  • Mentoring, coaching and leading a team of General Managers.

The Checklist
  • A minimum of 5 years of general management experience including demonstrated success driving profitable businesses and building strong teams.
  • Able to demonstrate substantial management experience in planning and developing people.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound knowledge and competency with financial information and a sound understanding of key business drivers and cost controls.
  • The ability to operate at a high level and only deep dive when required.
  • Can think big! A creative thinker, has a voice and can influence and champion change across a large portfolio.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and operate with the broader business and venue teams.
  • Clear thinking, calm under pressure and be able to demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communications (verbal and written) and organisational skills.
  • Strong project management disciplines inclusive of the ability to prioritise at peak times.
  • Ability to facilitate, train, teach and inspire others.
  • Demonstrated willingness to “roll up your sleeves”– as it is hospo after all!!
