We are looking for a suitably experienced hospitality professional that will take the lead and ensure that the Village catering service is always of a high standard and at the same time maintain a focus on continuous improvement. This is a very busy hand's on role, so you should expect to be involved in all aspects of this catering function, including staff management and associated administrative requirements.

Dysart Village is a facility with 1600 + rooms and is supported by Facilities, Housekeeping, Administration, Guest Services, Health and Lifestyle and Food and Beverage departments.  This village also provides fantastic lifestyle options with the provision of a gym, health and well-being and employee programs. Civeo also offers impressive training opportunities which can lead to further qualifications in hospitality.

Summary of duties & responsibilities

  • Roster – 14 days on 7 days off
  • Reinforce a safety culture from both a staff and client perspective
  • Coordinate, oversee production and presentation of meal service
  • Ensure compliance to all company and statutory requirements (responsible for all Kitchen practices involving the management of all agreed health, safety, quality and environmental accreditations, including but not limited to AS/NZS 4801, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP)
  • Participate in and manage compliance to KPI auditing
  • Achieve set bench marks in both Labour and consumable budgets
  • Manage and motivate catering staff

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Trade and or further qualifications in this field such as Business diploma
  • It is essential to have relevant work experience in high volume commercial catering practices and processes
  • Working knowledge of workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Staff management, performance management, mentoring etc
  • A working knowledge of ordering, storing preparing and delivering food
  • Developed budgetary analytical skills
  • Computer skills and in particular Microsoft office suite
  • Experience creating service schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management, problem solving and negotiation skills

Accommodation and meals are provided whilst on roster and a FREE scheduled bus service operates for Civeo employees who travel from Mackay – Bowen Basin QLD. Fly in fly out - FIFO is not provided.
