The Position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Catering Assistant to join our dedicated team based in Oxley. This opportunity will provide you with a challenging and varied role where you will learn to be a part of a fast-paced catering operation. The successful candidate will work casually on call.

The Role

• Basic food preparation including sandwich making
• General food preparation including buffet preparation
• Thorough cleaning of kitchen including dishes and floors
• Stock rotation and stock control
• Provision of excellent customer service to boarding students
• Any other ad hoc duties as required by our fantastic Chefs and leadership team
• Operating a commercial dishwasher to a high standard
• Assist with general kitchen duties under the direction of the Site Manager

The Person

• Comparable experience in either schools/boarding houses/cafes (preferred)
• Experience in a fast paced hospitality environment
• Large scale food preparation including sandwiches and function catering
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Able to build rapport and a great relationship with students
• Ability to think on your feet & go the extra step
• Understanding of OHS & food hygiene
• Ability to take direction & work unsupervised
• Basic Knife handling

The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Australian National Police Clearance (or be willing to obtain one).
