Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Relief/Floater Chef to support the Greater Melbourne Metropolitan Area of our food service business including Education Sites, Staff Cafeterias, Aged Care and functions/events within the business
The role comprises travelling to various sites and quickly gaining an understanding of the operation, ensuring quality food preparation, providing a high quality catering service to clients and maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cooking and serving fresh home style meals with adherence to service times with consistency and quality of food product
• Cooking for various Functions/Events and Daily meal service within Education, B&I and Aged Care
• Responsible for preparation of special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, vegetarian, gluten free; supplements and texture modified soft & purees
• Kitchen management including budgets, ordering & stock control
• Maintaining Food Safety Programs; safe and hygienic food practices in a clean and safe environment
• Mantaining the facility within guidelines
Key Criteria:
• Cert III In Commercial Cookery with 3 – 5 years experience
• Previous experience in Retirement/Aged Care
• A passion for producing and serving great food presented in the highest standards
• Excellent communication skills with varying stakeholders
• Ensuring safe and hygienic food practices are maintained in a clean and safe environment
• Flexible and adaptable to fit into any working environment
Roster: Full Time role to work across 7 days - 40hrs/week
An excellent salary package is available including a travel allowance.
