With the inclusion of a 100-plus-capacity conference & events space the versatile hotel is designed to suit both business and leisure travelers. Our Hotel is currently ranked in the Top 4 Hotels in Brisbane on TripAdvisor and we are just getting started!

Playing on the idea of mixing a home with an artistic hospitality venue, Salon de co was inspired by the Art Deco style, the Années folles, and the idea of revolutionising the world with creative flair.

This is a challenging and busy role, we are looking for a experienced outstanding Sous Chef to join our award winning restaurant in Brisbane! This is a 7 days a week operation, ala carte busy breakfast, lunch & dinner services as well as in-room dining. Assisting the Head Chef, you will also be leading the rest of your team in prepping for DDP functions etc. Salon de co is not your standard flair. Our menu is eclectic, fun, fresh and we get it out super quick!

 

The Gig

It goes without saying that our food will be paramount, but not like that all too-slick, corporate blah blah experience happening elsewhere in your traditional Hotel. We have a oodles & noodles of personality, big bags of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing. From our casual all day dining outlets, groovy bars, high-end launch parties and events and sublime weddings, our food will be always be unique with a very Ovolo twist.

 

About You

  • You are a well-seasoned Sous chef or an up and coming Senior CDP ready for the ride of a lifetime
  • You will have a background in high end venues and a solid understanding of how successful kitchens work.
  • You will bring your on-trend new ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our new Alibi project delectable and EPIC
  • Your team think you're absolutely fabulous and you LOVE to train your peeps
  • You work fantastically under pressure, are cucumber cool and a natural born leader who gets things done
  • You love the face-to-face guest experience and LOVE getting to know your guests
  • The F&B Team are your BFF's
  • You are great with your hands and like nothing better than being on the fly on a chaotic Saturday night
