About the business and the role

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is a growing International Cruise Line with 6 ships in the fleet currently; Astor, Columbus, Magellan, Marco Polo, Astoria and the new acquisition from P&O the Eden which joins us in April 2019 and will be renamed Vasco da Gama.

Now based in Adelaide this is a unique opportunity for an experienced current travel consultant who is looking for a new challenge in an exciting, rapidly growing sector of the travel Industry. We are now recruiting for a cruise reservations consultant to join our team to look after our fast growing list of travel agents, tour operators and direct customers.

The position will be based in our bright, modern and spacious offices on Greenhill Road, a short walk from the Showground train station, tram stops and numerous buses on Goodwood Road. 

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Maintain a high quality telephone sales and customer service to clients at all times be they direct, travel agents or tour operators.
• Answer reservation phone lines promptly & clearly, at all times
• Accurately input all data into our in-house booking system correctly, at the time of making the booking and ensuring it is complete before finishing the call.
• Take payment from direct clients, travel agents and operators.
• Ensuring all client enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner. This will be done by telephone, email and on occasion, face to face.
• Ensure correct information is passed on to clients.
• Administer cancellations and/or transfers received by email or post and ensure they are actioned in-line with company guidelines.
• Issue documentation to clients, such as ticketing, pre trip information, itinerary change letters etc.
• Up-sell to higher grades of accommodation wherever possible to increase margins.
• Sell ancillary products and additional add-ons to clients wherever possible. 
• Be a team player and also be able to work on your own initiative.
• To have a happy, enthusiastic and organised approach to your work, which can be demanding, but rewarding, during peak periods of the season..

Skills and experience

• Extensive travel product knowledge 
• At least 2 year's experience as a travel agent and currently working as an agent 
• Proven ability to meet and exceed set sales targets 
• Ability to work within a team - this is a very team focused company 
• Ensuring all clients are met with exceptional customer service skills 
• Proven attention to detail
