Blu Bar, on 36 of the Shangri-la Hotel, Sydney is an exclusive cocktail lounge located high above the city, allowing diners to enjoy breathtaking views of Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Blu Bar has created a unique, inventive style of cocktails called Liquid Physics, which has serious drink connoisseurs milling around for a masterclass in mixology.

As the Bar Supervisor you will:

• Be responsible for supporting the food and beverage operations of the bar, while leading a team to create an unforgettable guest experience.
• Have a passion for creating finely crafted cocktails and keeping up to date with the latest mixology trends.
• Inspire and train the bar team using your solid understanding of beverage knowledge.
• Efficiently lead the bar team to maintain high standards of service while managing a fast pace bar environment.
• Have a can do attitude and be willing in jump behind the bar to support the team with service.
• Be able to think outside the box with new cocktails and ideas to enhance our Liquid Physics menu.
• Driven to reach daily and monthly targets, while thinking of new ways to generate business.
• Ability to keep the team engaged and driven to achieve results using creative techniques and a fresh approach.
• Ensure all team members adhere to correct standards and procedures in place.
• Efficiently handle all guests' requests and complaints that may arise on shift.
• Be knowledgeable of the hotel liquor licensing guidelines and handle RSA issues that may arise on shift.

What we are looking for:

• Strong leadership skills and previous experience leading a team within the hospitality industry (min 1 year).
• Excellent communication skills; including both verbal and written.
• Previously worked at a five star hotel bar or similar cocktail bar environment
• Current RSA certificate
• Be available to a work a full time rotational roster
• Rights to work in Australia
