About Restaurant & Catering Australia

Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) is the peak national body representing restaurateurs and caterers across Australia. R&CA is seeking an Events Coordinator for a 7 month maternity leave contract to manage and deliver our events program from September 2018 to mid April 2019. 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to fill a maternity leave position with a professional industry association based in our St Leonards office. R&CA is seeking a dynamic & enthusiastic Events Coordinator to work with the Membership & Marketing team to deliver Association events.

Your New Role

You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a national events calendar. You will work on a range of events including the prestigious Awards for Excellence gala dinners  and work with our corporate partners to maximise their exposure. No interstate travel is required.

You will be a hands on event manager who is comfortable dealing with a range of stakeholders and planning, executing and reviewing the association's events. 

You will also assist with the successful management of events  and provide advice and recommendations as required.  You will be required to engage stakeholders and develop key relationships with venues, entertainers, sponsors, members and others.

What you will need to succeed

You will have a strong background in event management and feel comfortable leading an end to end event process. You will have a proven ability to objectively evaluate events from a commercial perspective. You will feel comfortable managing a budget and leading event staff as required. 

You will have an ability to create and implement event plans as well as work on the ground supporting the overall coordination of events. An understanding of generating and managing corporate sponsorships will be highly regarded.

You will be a quick and innovative thinker, able to cope well under pressure and operate to tight deadlines. You will have a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You must be a hands on, proactive individual, willing to be involved in all stages of event delivery.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, great time management and you are professional and positive.

Some evening work and is required to execute 2 gala dinners.
