The Role

Gastronomy is seeking an experienced, driven, passionate and creative Executive Sous Chef. 

Based in our flagship Alexandria kitchen, this role will be responsible for assisting the day to day operation of our main production kitchen, management of a large team of Chefs and Kitchen hands, scheduling, ordering and Workplace/Food Safety.

Central to this role will be collaborating with the Executive Chef to design and implement creative and innovative menus across the Gastronomy premium brand. 

A major part of this role also includes the service of Gastronomy's events at a variety of venues including intimidate boardroom lunches, dinner parties in private homes, large cocktail parties and plated events. 

The Person

We are looking for a hands-on Chef who has previously worked for premium caterers, restaurants or hotels. You will be flexible and adaptable and open to working in a fast and often changing environment.

You will have exceptional team leadership and organisation skills as well as a high level of customer service experience, to be able to liaise with clients at events about menus and recipes.

MINIMUM criteria to apply:

  • Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia
  • Extensive experience in similar Senior Chef role working for premium catering or fine dining
  • Chef Trade Qualification, Food Safety Supervisors Certificate and Full Drivers License.
