We are looking for an experienced Chef Manager to join our team, at our Aged Care Community in Bargara. You will be responsible for the direction and leadership of the food services team. This includes the provision of all meals for residents and family members, (including functions) with a focus on quality food preparation, presentation, service standards dedicated to resident dining satisfaction and enhancing the ‘dining experience’

Key Duties:

Organise control and direct aspects of human resources within food services including workload allocation, recruitment, training, and performance review to maximise productivity and resident satisfaction.

Ensure that quality systems are in place and that systems of compliance monitoring are maintained and regularly reported;

Participating in the Palm Lake Care Quality Schedule via audits and creating corrective action plans (where required);

Working within a budget;

Preparation of exceptional quality meals for residents maintaining a high standard of presentation and taste; and

Communicating with the Service Manager, Team Leaders, Residents, Families and Staff.

The successful applicant must also demonstrate:

  • Certificate 3 Commercial Cooking qualification with a minimum of 5 years commercial cooking experience;
  • Experience in senior living  desirable but not essential;
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate;
  • Demonstrated management experience;
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain and action resident dietary information in a timely manner;
  • The ability to lead, train and motivate a team to success with compassion and focus;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectively;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Sector;
  • Current police check;
  • Empathy with elderly residents and their families;
  • A great attitude!
