About the business and the role

Savour Chocolate & Patisserie School is seeking a part time Kitchen Assistant for our established boutique business in Brunswick. We operate as a school teaching modern skills and techniques in exquisite chocolate and patisserie courses to beginners and professionals using the finest equipment and ingredients.

The role:

• Saturday and Sunday - 10 hours per day a total of 20 hours P/W
• Fast paced position

Job tasks and responsibilities

The duties will include but are not subject to:

• Washing Dishes (primary role)
• Assist teacher with preparation of the class and during the class
• Lunch preparation (preparing sandwich items) 
• Set up for the class (weighing out ingredients and setting the benches with the equipment needed in the class)
• Purchase ingredients from the local supermarket
• Packaging of the final products which the students will take home
• General cleaning duties (Mise en plus, sweeping, mopping, scrub down benches and equipment, maintain rubbish bins and recycling etc.)
• Maintain bathroom cleanliness including toilet cleaning, bins, mopping and refilling of the paper towels and toilet paper

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

• An enthusiastic team member with a strong work ethic to join our close-knit team
• Experience in hospitality
• Punctual
• An employee who is trustworthy and reliable, and has a good eye for detail
• An employee who can work both independently and as part of a team
• An employee who can commit to our business long term and to set hours
• Position is available for immediate start (subject to a trial). Hands on training will be provided.

You will be employed under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010 (MA000009).

You must have the rights to work in Australia.
