Bunk Backpackers, is a multi award winning hostel in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Since opening 14 years ago Bunk Backpackers has become firmly established as an industry leader and is looking for a new 2IC who is not only willing to commit to the high standards already in place, but with a desire to raise the bar even further.

Bunk is a member of the Katarzyna Group, which includes prestigious venues across south east QLD in Brisbane and Surfers Paradise. Recent additions to the group include the Island Hotel and Bunk Surfers, increasing the opportunity to progress within the hospitality and accommodation industry for the right candidates.

All positions are generally considered initially as casual but salary is available for the right candidate. It is expected that your availability reflects the 24 hour nature of our business although we have always operated with a level of understanding.

Reporting to the Accommodation Manager your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Maintaining and improving our reputation for excellent customer service.
• Check in, Check out, and other core reception duties.
• Management of the front of house team in line.
• Precise folio management and cash handling.
• Working autonomously and as part of the entire hostel team both at the desk and behind the scenes.
• Assisting with yield management and debtor reconciliation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years relevant hospitality experience including at least 1year as a DM
• An automatic driving license
• A demonstrated history of stellar of customer service
• Experience using Guest Centrix or simular booking system is desirable but not essential.
