Scalabrini is a not for profit residential aged care provider, with a rich cultural heritage spanning nearly 50 years and a reputation for providing care to the frail for 7 Residential Aged Care Villages in NSW, for people living with dementia across culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Presently, we have opportunities for a Catering Assistant to join the team at our Chipping Norton Village on a casual basis!
We are seeking a motivated Catering Assistant who is willing to be an active team player responsible for participating in the preparation and delivery of high quality meals for residents.
You will assist the Catering team in the preparation of meals for residents within the Aged Care facility which are consistent with resident preferences and dietary needs. You will be a part of the catering team responsible for the presentation, plating and serving of meals, cleaning and re-setting dining room tables and daily catering activities.
Duties include
- Food handling and preparation including assistance in preparing meals, delivering meals and clearing and setting of tables;
- Washing and cleaning crockery and cutlery and using them to re-set tables in dining areas;
- Ensuring the kitchen area is clean and hygienic by following appropriate policies and procedures;
- Assisting the Cook in stock control including orders and accepting/checking deliveries; and
- Conducting temperature control checks.
The successful candidate will be someone who
- Is passionate about providing high quality food;
- Has experience preparing and serving food in a commercial aged care or health services environment;
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Has good time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
