Dendy Cinemas Opera Quays located on the iconic Harbour foreshore is one of Sydney's leading quality cinema venues for the discerning movie goer and we are looking for an outgoing, personable, and experienced Assistant Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, the position will be accountable for the daily operation of the cinema, ensuring high levels of customer service, efficient day-to-day operations, promotional activity, inventory management and ongoing staff training and development. If successful you must be available to commence at the cinema in early-mid August this year and have full availability right through our peak trading period up until February 2019. KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
1. The To assist the General Manager in carrying out the duties of the manager as provided for in the cinema award, and be called upon to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the General Manager during their absence
2. To supervise all areas of the cinema whilst on shift, including the supervision of Level 1-5 employees
3. To apply quality control techniques and maintain a high level of cleanliness
4. Inventory control
5. To perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment
6. To apply intelligent approaches to solving complex problems in a timely and precise manner
7. To be jointly responsible for the administration of the Cinema
8. To assist in developing and maintaining staff training and standards, and rosters
9. To assist in developing promotional activities
10. Ensure high technical standards are maintained and other duties, as directed by the General Manager.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Criteria
1. Minimum 1 year previous experience as a Cinema Manager
2. Proven record of delivering outcomes relating to customer service and hiring and training
3. Work well and thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, and enjoy the challenges of a constantly evolving business
4. Proven record of successful promotional activity
5. Proven record of meeting financial targets
6. Must possess recognized RSA certificate and Applied First Aid certificate
7. Competency with MS Office applications
Highly Desirable Criteria
1. Previous experience in a high-level service, hospitality environment
2. Tertiary / hospitality qualifications a bonus
3. Food Health & Safety or OHS qualifications a bonus
4. Technically trained in the operation of digital cinema projection equipment
5. Appreciation of quality cinema
As the business trades 7 days per week over extended hours, your roster will vary from time to time to match the business needs. Flexibility to work during periods of peak trading is a must, including some nights, some weekends and school holidays.
