The Jasper Hotel is a 90 bedroom boutique 4 star hotel located on Elizabeth Street, easily located by public transport and adjacent to the iconic Vic Markets. In addition, the hotel's operations consist of a bustling cafe and growing conference and event outlets. We are seeking talented and results driven Conference Manager on a Full Time basis to join our team to ensure we can offer the best possible product and service to all our guests.

Reporting to the hotel general manager you will work alongside and lead our Conference co-ordinator and operations supervisor to drive improved sales and operations, duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for responding to client sales enquiries as a matter of urgency
  • Provide quotations for conference and events proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs ensuring revenue is maximized
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clientele
  • Ongoing monitoring of revenue attainment, revenue forecasting and monthly reporting
  • Maintain, improve on, and utilise current database of clients
  • Involvement with annual budget planning
  • Drive marketing incentives to assist in achieving budget
  • Contacting past and present clients to determine their meeting and event needs
  • Sourcing new business through orchestrating strategic sales plan
  • Keen eye for conference and event operations, whilst not hands on we expect you to be passionately involved
  • Manage department operational logistics through co-ordinator and supervisor.
  • Liaising with the entire operations team to ensure a high quality offering, impeccable service being experience by our clients

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • A proven track record of performance in similar role
  • Previous sales experience including outbound calling and meeting established KPIs
  • Previous marketing experience for conference and events
  • Understanding of PCO’s and 3rd party sales providers
  • Knowledge of OPERA (desirable, but not essential)
  • Outstanding personality and presentation with a customer focused mindset
  • Strong administration and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
  • Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
