Modern Australian, café in Ryde requires an energetic and hardworking café chef/cook for full time role over 5 days including weekends with 3pm finishes. Must have a love for cooking, experience in menu planning and be knowledgeable about new food trends
The Role (You will be)
Hands-on style of chef who is passionate about cooking
Motivated and able to motivate others
Possess kitchen leadership and strong management skills
Experienced with high volume/running a fast-paced cafe kitchen
Highly organised with ability to prioritise tasks and service
Able to work autonomously or within a team
Be creative and able to write menus and create specials
Manage the day to day operations of a busy cafe kitchen
Have extensive knowledge about modern cafe food and new food trends.
Able to work closely with Owner Manager
Key Duties
Oversee the daily running of the kitchen
Stock management and ordering
Encourage improvement in the quality and presentation of food
Maintain cleanliness of cafe kitchen on a daily basis
Training, motivating and educating team including the floor staff
Provide input and support to the support and input to the Owner Manager in improving the menu and quality of food
You must have
Proven experience as cafe head chef/cafe chef
Hands-on experience managing a a high performing cafe kitchen (not restaurant)
Prep and plating skills are essential
High level of attentive skills
Professional and mature approach
Motivated to deliver consistent high standards of food and service quality
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Experience in all elements of opening and closing a cafe kitchen
A genuine desire to learn and grow with us
Passion for fresh and delicious food
Available to work days, weekends and holidays
