'Cafe Society' will be opening within the next 4-6 weeks in the Department of Social Services Building in Tuggeranong. This will be a cool, tropical themed cafe with a very relaxed vibe that can seat up to 300 people. Our focus will be serving delicious coffee and the absolute highest quality food. We will be holding many different types of events within the cafe such as BBQ breakfasts in the outside area, coffee learning days, multicultural theme days etc. So, experience in event management would be preferred for the suitable candidate. We also require that you have experience as a barista and also management of staff as the team of staff will be very large. You will be required to work along side other managers to ensure that the cafe runs at its absolute best performance.

We will be building up the team over the next few weeks so even if you don't have experience in management, please send your resume through if you are a barista or cook. Some of the cafe managers responsibilities are outlined below:

 

OPERATIONS:

· Ensures accountable for profitability bygrowing sales and controlling costs

· Ensures proper team member coverage,scheduling to the needs of business production, inventory levels, supplies andexpenses, while maintaining target labour costs

· Maintains proper loss prevention standards,reviewing cash handling

· Oversees all sales and purchase transaction.

· Perform all POS duties, front and back ofhouse functions including opening and closing procedures, coordinating with thebuilding Office as necessary

· Promotes and practices safe work habits,identifying and resolving potential

· Procedures, bank deposits and safe procedures

· Documents accidents, conducts initial investigationand determination of root cause in the interest of maintaining a safe workenvironment.

· Conducts monthly safety meetings ensuringteam member

· Pro-active in solving customer problems andsatisfying customers in various situations

· Assigning staffs to report for weeklypurchases and order weekly requirements from suppliers

· Overseeing all events and promotions run in the cafe- helping to come up with ideas and concepts for events, making sure they are organised in a timely manner and that they run smoothly

· Management of all catering events in the building

 

SERVICE:

· Assesses and provides adequate staffing toprovide efficient and friendly, superior service on a consistent basis.

· Maintains high cleanliness standardsconsistently throughout the cafe in the areas of service appearance andequipment.

· Ensures that all food and drink recipes andprocedures are followed, maintaining the

· Ensures that all cafe food offerings maintainthe highest quality and consistent product standards.

· Builds morale and team spirit by fostering awork environment where team members

· Identifies staffing, recruiting,interviewing, hiring, and training. Facilitates on- going training and development of current staff.
