Chef de Partie - Retail | Work-Life Balance | Client Facing

The retail food and beverage chef de partie role offering includes working in a kitchen producing grab and go items, fast food and bistro menu options. In a fast paced, high volume, fun environment.

A day in the life....

  • Prepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgency whilst ensuring quality and presentation is maintained.
  • Liaise with F&B service team members regarding the availability of menu items, additions and any changes to the menu.
  • Ensure service in the kitchen is consistently fast and efficient and report all matters to the senior Chef.
  • Organise your assigned section/outlet and ensure it runs efficiently and productively.
  • Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
  • Work with the Executive Chef/Head Chef and Retail F&B Manager to resolve any guest complaints regarding the quality of food.
  • Lead team members by setting a positive example. Instruct, train and develop junior chefs.
  • Control wateage and operating within prescribed COGS.
  • Supervise all team members within your area of responsibility including kitchen hands.

More About You

  • Retail food and beverage cooking experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of sauces, stocks, seafood, pizzas and good pan work.
  • Experience in fast paced, high volume service experience favourable
  • You will need to be a strong communicator with a calm manner and be quality focused ensuring consistency and food presentation meet the required standards
  • Customer focused
  • Team player - places higher priority on team goals than on own goals
  • Great attitude - optimistic, engaged and proactive
  • Natural personality - confident, knowledgeable and helpful
  • Must have Australian recognised chef qualifications.
  • Full Australian working rights is essential with no visa restrictions. Visa Sponsorship is not available
  • This is a full-time position with the majority of hours being worked Friday through Monday, which will include some evening shifts on the weekend
  • Be able to work calmly when under pressure
  • HACCP, Food Safety and WH&S awareness and practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Switched on passionate chefs with a Humble with a 'go-getter' attitude
  • Must be able to think on your feet, be adaptable/ and flexible
  • Solid food knowledge and organised nature
