The Position
We currently have an opportunity for a passionate Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team based at the prestigious Saint Ignatius' College Riverview campus in Lane Cove. You'll be cooking primarily in the onsite Early Learning Centre, catering for up to 80 children including babies as young as 6 weeks old. This is a Part-Time role offering 28-38 hours per week dependent on shifts.
A day in the life of:
- Food preparation, cooking and presenting dishes to the highest of standards
- Take ownership and actively contribute to the quality of food preparation and service
- Establish and maintain a safe and secure workplace
- Clean and maintain kitchen premises
- Apply catering control principles
- Assist Head Chef in the innovation and implementation of evolving menus to meet the needs of our clients
A bit about you:
- You'll have worked in a commercial kitchen – childcare and allergen preparation and presentation experience, understanding and knowledge of early learning kitchens advantageous
- Level 4 certification will be looked on favourably
- Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and healthy food
- Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
- Desire to learn and grow
- Can-do & flexible attitude
- Have a valid Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
- Must have own transport
