polēpolē and Glamp are a boutique 2 level restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.  We’ve been named as a not to be missed dining and drinking experience, along with appearing in numerous best of lists/reviews for both food and drinks.

About the role

The position is a hands-on role requiring you to work in and oversee service, focusing on all the little things that lead to customer satisfaction and subsequently sales growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Venue Manager with leadership of the restaurant and its bar by example from the floor
  • Ensure the bar and restaurant is fully operational as required and high standards are maintained throughout service.
  • Effective and efficient supervision of all staff working within the restaurant, with the ability to engage and inspire the team to greatness
  • Ensure that the restaurant is run in a safe, orderly, lawful and disciplined manner with a high level of cleanliness
  • Be involved in recruitment, selection and training of FOH staff into multi-skilled, flexible team, who take pride and ownership in their work
  • Promote and develop the business with promotional activity as required and recommend promotional initiatives
  • Work closely and cooperatively with the Venue Manager, Head Chef, Beverage Manager, and Function Coordinator

  • This role is suitable for a hospitality all-rounder with:
  • A Customer focused approach and strive to meeting and exceeding customers expectation.
  • Experience in a similar leadership position with motivation to maintain high standards and promote good team work
  • A passion and understanding for the Hospitality industry.
  • Passion to create a warm, inviting community focused hospitality environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge and passion for food, beer and wine, with cocktail experience
  • Computer and financial literacy
  • High level of presentation

 

This fantastic opportunity offers a great work/life balance. There will be a variety in working hours, with normal trading on Tuesday to Saturday evenings.
