SMAART currently have the perfect opportunity for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager who is looking to move into a role that can offer them a broader range of duties and responsibilities. Join an established not for profit club based in Bulleen and gain exposure to a business who promotes a fantastic business culture and gives back to their community.

Established in the 1960’s, the organisation currently has over 120 employees and contributes to the community through local sporting clubs and fund-raising events, whilst also providing its 2000 members and the wider community access to function spaces and club facilities.

This role will offer the successful candidate true potential for progression with clear development opportunities and progression paths set out for the successful candidate to move into an Operational Management role and take a senior management role within the club. 

Not only will you form an integral part of the management team but you will also lead a team of up to 80 employees as you oversee the day to day operations of the club across the food, beverage and gaming departments. You will be responsible for the rostering of staff, stock control, staff development and training, as well as gaming operations and compliance. 

Key requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years experience working within the Hospitality industry across food, beverage and gaming 
• Previous experience leading teams and assisting with overall venue management 
• Previous experience in stock management and stock control
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with diverse groups of people 
• Motivated, determined and driven to develop professionally and grow within a business 
• A current Victorian RSA and RCG are essential for this role
