The Venue

Not quite a cafe, not quite a restaurant but innovative in the middle this venue is setting the standard in creative cuisine. Using the best in local and sustainable produce, the venue and group has received great acclaim and a reputation for the best. Think along the lines of Higher Ground and Kettle Black in Melbourne, this unique offering with give the incumbent chef the creative outlet they seek.

With an established team already in place and with growth in the near future we are looking for a confident head chef to lead the way and ensure continued successes. This dining venue is busy and services a clientele that is foodie driven, so needs fine dining technique with an approachable style.

The Position:

We are looking for an exceptional, experienced Executive Head chef to take the reigns of this busy venue. A sensible and considered approach to cost control, produce, menu creation and maintaining a productive and happy work force are all vital for the success of the right candidate. As this venue is a busy little machine, the successful candidate will come with unbridled enthusiasm and live for the rush of a busy service.

Ideally, You Will Have:

  • Several years experience in a busy, food focused a la carte and trend setting cafe environments
  • Qualifications and training and Michelin or hat environments highly desirable
  • A rounded approach to menu creation and ability to balance cost and value
  • Enjoy early mornings and are looking for balance from your roster
  • An ability to motivate and lead a small team of professional chefs
  • A creative mind and can do attitude
  • A desire to produce fantastic dishes, in a positive and passionate kitchen
