Warrawagine Station requires an experienced chef for an immediate start.

Warrawagine Cattle Co is a privately owned Pastoral Co with stations in the East Pilbara.

Warrawagine Station is located in the East Pilbara Region of Western Australia, approximately 1.5 hours from Marble Bar and 3 hours from Port Hedland, of which Port Hedland is our nearest major centre.

The property is on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert and in the heart of the Pilbara. Consisting of spinifex ridges rolling through the property along with buffel flats, along the Nullagine, Oakover and De Grey Rivers.

Warrawagine runs 25,000 head of Droughtmaster cross cattle and our mustering season runs for approximately six months of the year.

We are also undertaking a large water and fencing development project at present and accommodating a team of pilots who are conducting surveys for a mining company.

We require an experienced station chef to join the team at Warrawagine Station. To be successful you will need to have a minimum of two years’ experience, preferably in a similar role on a remote cattle station. The role requires you to cook for up to 40 people during the mustering season and up to 20 people during the non-mustering season.

KEY ACCOUNTABLILITES

·         Produce four healthy, nutritious and superb quality meals a day, with varied meal options, from an array of fresh and dry ingredients.

·         Use ingredients conversantly, and work within the stations Budget for food supplies.

·         Assisting in the unloading and packing away of stores, fortnightly or as required.

·         Butcher meat as needed; with pieces weighing up to 15kgs.

·         Ensure the kitchen, cold-room’s, dining room and storeroom are maintained at a clean and tidy standard at all times.

·         Preparation, serving and storing of food must be of a very high standard, neatly and hygienically.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

·         Previous cooking experience for up to 40 people

·         Excellent time management and organizational skills

·         Very high standard of hygiene

·         Must be able to complete and pass a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (including a Medical Assessment, Audiometry Assessment, Instant Drug and Alcohol Screen and a Light Musculoskeletal Assessment).

This position will require you to have very early starts in order to produce a cooked Breakfast, substantial smoko and lunch and a hearty dinner, along with dessert. This position will see you working irregular hours; so starting early and finishing late will be the name of the game. You will be required to take a break during the day, however you must be organized and prepared in order to produce the next meal.

This position will suit someone who is willing to commit at least twelve months with the preferred option being two years, as you play a vital role in the operation of the cattle station.

Annual Salary; $60,000 approx
