Oberon is an attractive natural setting with a unique combination of national parks, state forests and rolling hills. Jenolan Caves, Kanangra Boyd National Park and Abercrombie River National Park and their spectacular scenery are the major attractions in the area. The most spectacular limestone deposits in Australia are found in The Jenolan Caves.
 

Oberon is surrounded by quaint villages and larger town centres, that enable visitors to use Oberon as a base for a variety of day excursions. As part of the World Heritage Listed Greater Blue Mountains Region, Oberon is a popular area for horse riding, trout fishing, four wheel driving, mushroom picking, bushwalking and sapphire fossicking.
 

Oberon has grown to an estimated resident shire population of 5,077 at 2011, with around 2,700 living in the township itself. There is a good variety of visitor accommodation with a choice of hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, self-contained cottages and farmstay, as well as caravan parks and several camping grounds in the shire.
 

Oberon has a true mountain climate, and the occasional snowfall is a bonus! The area is still well known for its gardens, featured during the Oberon Daffodil Festival in late September that's become an annual event since 1984 taking place on the last weekend in September. 

Oberon RSL Club is well placed ot host many of the locals and visitors to the area with facilities that include; lawn bowls, squash, restaurant and bar facilities, functions, entertainment and pool tables. The restaurant is open 7 days for lunch and dinner.

Now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Contract Caterers to take on the restaurant and functions operations. There is a large commercial kitchen available with full facilities including a Combi oven, wok burner, 3 x deep fryers , pizza oven.  The restaurant serves approximately 650 meals per week currently, with a bistro-style menu offering steaks, burgers, schnitzels and pizzas. This is the type of food offering the Club would like to continue with.
