Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesCater Care are seeking an experienced Weekend Chef to prepare healthy nutritious meals at a Brand New 5 Star Aged Care facility in Dubbo.
The key to our success is our people. Your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents through the cooking of a variety of meals, preparation of ingredients and food service.
This position is a hands on position requiring you to prepare and cook meals for our valued residents as well as manage a small team of staff.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of ingredients/menu- adherence to service times with consistency and quality of food product
- Special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, supplements and texture modified soft & purees
- Monitoring food costs and ordering and stock control
- Monitoring and promoting kitchen hygiene and HACCP
- Staff management including training & development, performance management, rosters & staff replacement
- Client and Resident engagement
- Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Previous managerial experience in a similar position
- A passion for great food and customer service
- Strong OH&S awareness
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate to various stakeholders
Roster: Saturday & Sunday 9:30am - 6:00pm
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role working in Aged Care or Residential Care. You will be a well presented and self-motivated individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills.
