The roles

After several exceedingly strong years of growth for the Business School, the University has launched an exciting academic recruitment plan to expand our unrivalled team of world-class staff.

The Tourism Discipline at UQ Business School has a long tradition of excellence, with its history going back to 1972. Our undergraduate and postgraduate programs provide broad disciplinary foundations followed by majors in hospitality, tourism and event management.

The Professor in Tourism (Teaching and Research) will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, postgraduate supervision, and further development of the School’s programs; perform research, administrative and other activities associated with the School; and significantly contribute to the Tourism Discipline through academic leadership, scholarship and the mentoring of academic staff.

The Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers and Lecturers in Tourism (Teaching and Research)will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and further development of the School’s programs; undertake research of high quality; and perform administrative and other activities associated with the School.

The person

We are seeking engaged and collaborative academic staff whose career aspirations match the following criteria:

  • Motivation to lead an engaging education experience for our students and executive education clients;
  • Record of published research in leading journals; and
  • Desire to engage with industry and contribute to the community within UQ Business School.

Applicants with expertise and the proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching in hospitality and/or event management courses would be highly regarded.

Remuneration

Professor Level E - This is a full-time, continuing appointment and the remuneration package will be $175,070 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $204,831 p.a.).

Associate Professor Level D - This is a full-time, continuing appointment and the remuneration package will be in the range of $135,909 to $149,731 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $159,013 to $175,185 p.a.).

Senior Lecturer Level C - This is a full-time, continuing appointment and the remuneration package will be in the range of $112,874 to $130,150 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,062 to $152,275 p.a.).

Lecturer Level B - This is a full-time, continuing appointment and the remuneration package will be in the range of $92,142 to $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,806 to 128,020 p.a.).
