General Manager

The Position

As General Manager your role as the strategic business leader for our unique venue will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, including delivering guest experiences, food & beverage excellence, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and overall property management. 

The ideal candidate will have previous local work experience as a General Manager, with the leadership of a newly opened venue highly regarded. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading hotel operations of a property with multiple food & beverage outlets, events department and a highly motivated leader with a hands-on approach to develop and motivate their executive team. 

The Ideal Candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major. 
  • 3+ years experience in a Hotel Management capacity
  • Experience with pre-opening or a newly opened property
  • Committed and accessible after hours if required

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop overall hotel strategy to maximise on guest satisfaction, profitability, market share and employee satisfaction. 
  • Execute business plans by leading and holding department heads accountable for successful delivery of strategy. 
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to develop and execute revenue and brand strategies across all hotel departments tailored to the property's unique offerings. 
  • Assist and verify department managers are using systems to their full potential, ensuring booking ease and flawless interactions with sales and events
  • Create and drive a cohesive, motivated, high-performance work environment striving for success and continual improvement; providing support and feedback as required to all levels of the property. 
  • Develop and verify work processes with department heads to ensure operational procedures are providing a flawless guest experience and maximise on overall property performance.
  • Review business data such as market share, financial performance, inventory, employee engagement and customer satisfaction; analysing information to address changing conditions in a competitive market. 
  • Assist with employee relations by building rapport with employees (open door policy), working with Human Resources as needed and celebrating the successes. 
  • Build a strong rapport with property owners through proactive and ongoing communications providing in-depth analysis of property performance. 
  • Interacts with guests and other customers frequently to obtain feedback on service delivery; holding department heads to account of success, failures, opportunities and complications. 
  • Support department heads in solving problems and communicating to ensure consistency and ongoing growth. 
  • To oversee and be responsible for overall food & beverage operations working closely with the management of outlets. 
  • Verify the property is compliant with legal, health and safety, operations, labour and owner expectations.
