The Island playground of WA's, largest Food & Beverage venue is seeking a highly experienced and efficient Duty Manager.

As a Duty Manager at Hotel Rottnest, you will assist and work closely with the Assistant General Manager and other Duty Manager's on a day to day basis.  You will support operational performances, assist with the accommodation when required and further the continual improvement of the Hotel.  The venue hosts a large number of functions, events and concerts that host 4500 people at one time.

We are looking for an energetic, committed and career motivated individual with demonstrated experience in a similar role to join our team. This is a hands on and challenging position.

You will need to acclimatise with a close-knit live on management team. Rreturn travel on Ferries and two staff meals a day are included free of charge. Seeking open minded individuals and content with living on a small, remote, community based island.

Duty Manager Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the activity of the bar and bistro staff – Up to 70 staff on shift in peak season
  • Manage the daily F&B operations of the hotel in a 1700 pax venue.
  • Development and training of staff
  • Maintaining high standards of service
  • Opening and closing of the Venue
  • Maintaining venue presentation and cleanliness
  • Processing & reconciling POS, ATM's, EFT terminals and complete end of day financial reporting
  • Generating daily reports.
  • Attending management briefings and meetings
  • Support to the accommodation department and it's operations
  • Overnight contact person for accommodation guests

To be considered for this positions it is essential that you have the following key attributes:

  • Be able to work in a high volume, high pressure environment
  • The ability to keep a calm presence in stressful situations
  • Have a passion for delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Work well with a seasonal team
  • Have strong leadership skills
  • Have extensive knowledge of H&L operations or similar POS systems
  • Ability to live and work in a remote small community environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible approach to work hours with weekends and evening availability across a 7 day business operation is a must
  • Valid un-restricted approved managers certification
