An opportunity has become available for a creative, highly motivated and focused Sous Chef to join the successful kitchen team at The Kettle Black in South Melbourne. This role would be perfect for a chef wanting the chance to further develop and evolve in a day time cafe environment. Previous hatted restaurant experience would be highly regarded however not mandatory.
You will enjoy a regular routine, 5 days a week, no splits or late nights, a set roster of 38 hours per week and most of all a supportive environment for you to learn and grow.
To be successful you must posses the following:
- Have a sounds understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
- You will be reliable, dedicated, willing to continue learning and passionate
- Food preparation with excellent attention to detail
- Confident keeping all working areas clean and tidy & ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned to OHS standards.
- Exposure to ordering, budgets, wastage & menu creation
- Be confident working alongside the Head Chef to manage the kitchen team
- The ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a professional manner
Experience
You will be fully qualified and preferably have worked in a similar fast paced kitchen or hatted restaurant with high volume and great attention to detail, If this sounds like you please apply now.
