About the business and the role

We are an accommodation and tourism business based on the South Coast of NSW in Nowra along the shores of the Shoalhaven River.  We have a collection of accommodation products including the groups latest acquisition, a beautiful heritage Bnb dating from 1850, a 23 room fully renovated River Lodge along the river side and 2 short-term accommodation rental properties.

The role will be to manage the properties and market the area as a destination to a wider demographic of potential customers. The role is suited towards a couple as the work needs to be shared between the front desk office, the speciality tea and coffee bar, general maintenance and of course marketing and business development for the area.

We are small dynamic team with an angle towards developing an Asian presence in the South Coast hospitality market. All the properties have been through a recent successful era of refurbishment placing the motel now as the second preferred property on Trip Advisor. The facilities of the River Lodge and all properties now stand ready for the right managers to really advance the sales to our target demographic audience whilst growing more international inbound business simultaneously.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Overall venue management and maintenace
  • Financial management and cost control
  • Venue compliance and stock control
  • People management and performance
  • Community engagement and local area marketing
  • Revenue generation initiatives and plans
  • Community events and branding
  • Managing a dynamic team of motivated individuals that are delivering outstanding customer service
  • Facebook, Insta and website management
  • Provide ongoing training, recruitment and retention of existing staff
  • Always on the look-out for industry trends in entertainment, lighting and atmosphere
  • Continuous improvement in operations and service
  • Repairs and maintenance of facilities including pool, gardens and general facilities

Skills and experience

The team will be looking at couples with proven references and track record, outstanding customer service, excellent presentation skills and finally have the ability to navigate modern technology and online platforms.

Working knowledge of reservation systems, accounting, barista skills and having RSA and food handing certification will be beneficial to your application.

This opportunity for the right couple will require a training period with the current owners. The right couple will start with a paid training period of 7 days. Starting date for the position is 1st September, 2018. We have some flexibility in this timing, however on the job training training would need to take place before then.
