Role

Under the direction of our Head Chef, you will assist in the preparation and service of the best of Western Australian Cuisine. Our Head Chef comes with a wealth of experience in high end restaurants. He will skillfully lead a dynamic team, using locally sourced products to produce a fresh, seasonal menu supplemented by daily specials.

You will have the luxury of learning under highly experienced chefs. You will have the opportunity to work in all sections, refining your skills and becoming the best chef that you can be, you will have all the tools you need to create amazing dishes and take pride in what you do.

Duties

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Working with local and seasonal ingredients on a constantly changing menu, striving to consistently deliver the best;
  • Adhere to recipes and procedures as outlined by the Head Chef and provide input into menu design and creation, writing recipes where appropriate;
  • Having full knowledge of every menu item from start to finish;

Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experiences;

  • Relevant Qualification in Commercial Cookery;
  • At least one year's experience as a Commis in high end restaurants;
  • Ability to take direction from senior staff and willingness to educate junior staff;
  • Willing and able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings when required;
  • A strong work ethic, a passion to create good food and a desire to succeed.

This role will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with organisational ability including time management, task prioritization and resource scheduling.

An understanding of the needs and desires of the luxury traveller are essential.
