The Botanic Gardens Restaurant is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday and dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. The Restaurant seats up to 80 guests a la carte dining, 100 guests in banquet dining and 140 guests in cocktail dining.

The kitchen team is led by Head Chef Paul Baker, Restaurant and Catering SA Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year 2017, is currently a 2 Star, ranked in the top 100 (54) Restaurants in the Australian Gourmet Traveller. The contemporary menu has a natural focus on seasonal vegetables, grains and herbal ingredients incorporating fresh and ethically farmed produce. The environs of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide is the source of a number of foraging food items which is a defining element to the restaurant.

The successful applicant will need to have the following qualities and experience:

  • Be qualified and have previous success in similar level of restaurant
  • Be highly motivated, creative, passionate and have exceptional cooking standards and be able to cook contemporary Australian cuisine to International standards.
  • Be highly organised supporting the Head Chef in their absence and have a full a control on food costs, labour costs and overhead costs, which will be reported weekly.
  • Must be "Team Player" and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate management team and kitchen staff. 
  • Ability to perform training in new technical cooking skills, kitchen cost management and cleaning systems to their team.
  • Have a "Can Do" approach to cooking and management
