The Position
St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking applications from enthusiastic and friendly Food Service Advisors to join our dynamic Catering Department on a casual basis.
Successful candidates will act as the liaison between the Catering Department, ward and patients, and will be expected to provide exceptional customer service, including participating in room service, advising on dietary requirements, and assisting Dysphasic patients.
Knowledge of safe food handling practices and basic computer skills are essential for further consideration. Previous experience as a Maître D or in a similar role will be highly regarded. The successful candidates will be expected to have availability to work across a range of shifts, which may be rostered between 6.30am and 8.00pm, Monday to Sunday.
The successful candidate will have:

- A high level of customer service skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy with demonstrated experience in customer service.
- Experience in food handling or catering services.
- Knowledge of hygiene regulations and food safety/HACCP standards.
- Knowledge of safe Housekeeping, Safe Manual Handling Techniques and Safe Chemical Use.
- Well-developed computer skills with a working knowledge of a range of MS Office packages.
- Organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to individuals and groups including senior management, caregivers, external professional service providers, our clients and the general public.
