Detail information about job Bar Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

Archie Rose is Australia’s leading multi-spirit distillery. Founded in 2014 and located in Rosebery, Sydney – just a few kilometres south of the city – Archie Rose Distilling Co. proudly produces a diverse range of internationally awarded whiskies, gins, vodkas and rums, as well as one-off collaborations, limited releases and spirits experiences.

Guided by our belief that spirits are best shared, we open our distillery doors to all who wish to experience the best that authentic local distilling has to offer. Through our commitment to sharing our knowledge and processes, we invite guests to create their own tailored spirit onsite or online.

Since launch we’ve won dozens of awards around the world, run thousands of distillery tours, masterclasses and events and been lucky enough to partner with incredible organisations like St George Open Air Cinema, The Australian Museum, Sydney Film Festival, Sydney Biennale, Sydney Writers’ Festival, National Gallery of Australia and ACMI.

Our approach to the execution of events is not run-of-the-mill. We consider ourselves the Australian leaders in spirits education, events and experiences and love working with partners and clients who are as passionate about what they do as we are.

A love for spirits is a must - If you don’t have a thorough knowledge of distillation before you start you’ll be given an intensive crash course.

The successful candidate will not be phased by being asked to knock up a makeshift bar in a park, teach 300 people how to blend gin on a ship, throw a rooftop party this weekend for 500, help with plotting spectacular events at some of Sydney’s premier cultural institutions. Essentially manage and staff an ever-changing events calendar, both home and away.

Your home will be one of Sydney’s most beautiful bars. Your speed rail is made footsteps away. You will report to the venue manager and head of hospitality with support given where needed.

The company is growing at a breakneck pace, we need someone to lead the team as we move nationally and soon internationally. We are looking for someone who wants to work fairly autonomously when it comes to their cocktail list,

This isn’t your regular job offer. It’s not your regular company. We don’t want a regular bar manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily bar operations and experiences.

  • Scheduling bar staff for the venue and off site events.

  • Managing stock, our back bar consists of 300+ whiskies, 60+ gins and over 60+ local spirits.

  • Providing event support by organising stock and prep required.

  • Liaising with suppliers and stockists.

  • Manage a team of dedicated hospitality professionals and their personal careers.

  • Work on KPIs relating to revenue and targets.

Selection Criteria:

  • Previous management of a dedicated team of 10+ bartenders.

  • Experience in executing seasonal cocktail menus.

  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment.

  • An ability to write and communicate effectively, we are a growing company and communication is vital. Previous use of Excel, Word and Gmail will be helpful.

  • Proof that you’re a self-starter able to work creatively and independently is essential.

How to apply:

  • Please send us your pitch as to why you’d love to work with us along with a current CV by 30 July, and we’ll be in touch shortly.
