Palazzo Versace Gold Coast, the world's first fashion branded hotel, sets the standard for world class accommodation and service including 200 luxury suites, 72 condominiums, 3 diverse style restaurants, a European style spa, a 90 berth Marina and Versace Boutique.
We are currently looking for a professional and energetic individual to manage our Banquet and Water Salon front of house teams. As Banquet & Water Salon Operations Manager, you will coordinate the detailed operational requirements associated with all aspects of Banquet operations, including all weddings and MICE. This role will also oversee the 90 seat Water Salon day to day operation, which peaks at 350 covers in high season. This role is supported by a supervisor and individual teams in both areas. This is a demanding, logistically challenging and hands on role with huge opportunities for the right candidate.
The Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures in the Banquet and Catering service
- Providing unique and creative ideas to enhance meetings & group experience
- Managing the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the Banquet and Catering Section
- Full P&L accountability
- Scheduling of training and performance management
- Monthly inventory, consumption spreadsheet and banquet staff labour
- In depth knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation and presentation
- Oversee catered functions, in house and off site
- Supervising events and team members throughout set up and service
- Resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently.
- Ensuring function space is visually appealing
- Ensuring overall sanitation and cleanliness of the work areas, banquet rooms and storage areas
Requirements
The following requirements are prerequisites of the role. Candidates must be able to speak with others using clear and professional language, answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. They must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time and reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The successful candidate will be required to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Your previous experience in food and beverage management and your leadership skills will be called upon to guide our team of enthusiastic and motivated staff. They will look to you for inspiration, guidance and training. This position requires you to have an excellent eye for detail and the ability to think on your feet. Excellent customer service and communication skills, together with an undeniable passion for the industry are mandatory. Candidates must have experience in operating sales and catering software's like Opera S&M, Protel Banquet, Delphi and POS (point of sales) software's. Only those with a minimum of 2 years' experience at Banquet Manager level within a similar property will be considered.
