Owned by the City of Holdfast Bay, Alwyndor is the operator of the Dorothy Cheater Trust. We deliver on-site residential care and outreach community and therapy services to the area’s older population. Alwyndor’s long history of caring for the elderly in our community and will continue into the future.
About the Role
Alwyndor are looking for an experienced and chef qualified supervisor to assist with the management of our hospitality needs. The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for delivering a professional and effective catering and housekeeping service to our customers.
The Hospitality Supervisor is expected to:
- Ensure that catering and housekeeping functions are operating effectively and in line with Alwyndor standards
- Continuously improve service delivery and efficiency
- Manage within budgetary constraints
- Manage all aspects of staffing for the department
- Ensure catering and housekeeping operate in line with legislative and contractual requirements, including but not limited to:
- WHS
- Food Safety
- Quality
- Responsible for liaising with customers and stakeholders regarding all aspects of catering and housekeeping
- Effectively manage consumables
- Liaise with suppliers and management of contracts, including WHS and service delivery
- Providing reports and recommendations to senior management regarding catering and housekeeping matters
- Ensure that WHS Policies and supporting procedures are implemented and adhered to
- WHS policies and supporting procedures are brought to the attention of affected workers in your area
Required Skill and Attributes:
- Chef qualifications and experience
- Highly developed employee management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within set budgets
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to establish credibility and deliver high quality outcomes
- Excellent working knowledge of food handling & food hygiene standards
- Demonstrated experience with HACCP procedures
- Demonstrated experience in managing WHS matters
- A proven ability to plan, develop, and execute business improvement strategies
- Experience in Quality Control processes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines;
- Ability to be resilient, innovative, flexible and readily accommodate change
