Steersons is an established steakhouse restaurant located in the thriving King St Wharf dining precinct. Our venue is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Assistant Manager to join the team.

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for the restaurants daily service operation, along with the responsibility of handling the venues group reservation and function needs.

This hands-on role will require the candidate to consistently drive revenues and customer experience. In addition to the day-to-day meal service responsibilities, the role will require ownership of the venues group booking and function needs, seeing the process from inquiry to confirmation.

Applicants must posses the following:

Must have:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in either a supervisory or assistant manager level.
  • Ability to manage a team of 12+ staff.
  • A team focused attitude and the ability to lead by example.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to inspire the team to achieve the restaurants goals and targets.
  • The ability to priorities service operations and group booking/function responsibilities.
  • Exceptional self organisation skills to allow for timely completion of service and function demands

Daily Operational Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing and leading the FOH team during service.
  • Assisting in both table and bar service as needed.
  • Maintaining the impeccable appearance of the restaurant.
  • Involvement in training and coaching as needed.
  • Ability to uphold the restaurants standards of service by diligently managing the floor during service.
  • Monitoring daily labour costs
  • Ensuring opening and closing duties are met.
  • Engaging with customers and handling feedback.
  • Additional tasks and projects as required by the Restaurant General Manager.

Daily Group Booking / Function Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond to all function inquiries.
  • Ensure follow up on any function leads
  • Communicate with culinary team on food selections
  • Preparation of the Function Event Order
  • Taking of deposits and invoicing clients
