Cherratta Lodge is a privately owned recognised leader in the provision of high quality food and accommodation services in Karratha. We offer short and long-term accommodation within a resort style village, which includes an award-winning restaurant, function facilities and outstanding amenities.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced Chef who’ll join us in providing high quality meals for our guests.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work with our seasoned chefs in a fast-paced environment, requiring experience, broad knowledge and understanding of the craft. This role is a Karratha-based position and the suitable candidate will be provided return flights from Perth, accommodation and meals for the duration of the contract.
This is a fixed-term contract position for four (4) weeks to start on Wednesday, the 18th of July.
About the Role
We are looking for an outstanding team member who is passionate about producing food of the highest standards and supported by appropriate qualifications and experience in the following:
- Cert IV in Commercial Cookery, Senior First Aid Certificate, essential
- Solid knowledge of HACCP procedures and safe work practices / HACCP Certificate
- Proven competencies in all hands-on services – Breakfast (both Hot and Cold Sections), Dinner, Salads, Dessert, Pastry, Functions & Crib service
- Strong experience in high volume and/or buffet style cooking, preferably in remote or mine site environment
- FIFO catering experience is ESSENTIAL
- Flexibility and adaptability in work hours
- Outstanding work ethic backed up by reputable referees
- A genuine approach to quality customer service
- Positive, pro-active approach to safety
- Good communication skills
- Current National Police Clearance, no older than 3 months
- Able to relocate to Karratha
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
· Preparing meals including dinner, breakfast, cold larder and pastry for up to 500 Pax. Some function work may also be required.
· Ensure food safety and quality is maintained to the highest standards
· Support Village Management and Head Chef with stock control and ordering where necessary
