Head Chef

Corporate Caterer in Artarmon

Vanilla Blue is an award winning Corporate Caterer, and we are in our 11th year in business. We cater gourmet teas, lunches and finger food to some of Sydney's biggest companies and to lots of small hungry companies too.  We are committed to creating delicious catering that keeps companies moving.    

Get your weekends back…and Christmas too.  Our business is open Monday to Friday and we have a shut down from Christmas until early-January.  Hours are 5am to 3 pm daily.

 

Here's what you need to know about the role

You will be responsible for the successful operation of our kitchen under our Executive Chef. Your focus will be on the smooth-running of our busy kitchen, whilst leading and motivating our kitchen team.    The efficient and effective operational performance of the kitchen is key to success in this role. 

With 3 direct reports and a staff of 15 in the kitchen this is a substantial role for an experienced Head Chef looking for the next challenge.  3+ years’ experience will be required for this role.

 

The Head Chef will:

  • Oversee purchasing, costing, working with suppliers to obtain outstanding products
  • Manage food quality, portion control and presentation
  • Develop our team, teach and up skill 
  • Forster a positive working environment
  • Follow strict food safety practices
  • Have a proven experience in running a busy kitchen successfully
  • Be a strong, collaborative leadership style
  • Be punctual, diligent and driven
  • Have a minimum 3 years’ experience as Head Chef
