We are Tasmania’s Number 1 Restaurant on Trip Advisor and are recruiting for a senior Restaurant Manager.  We are looking for a special person to manage our restaurant, which is currently being run by the owners. 

You will have:

  • At least 5 years'  supervisory experience in a similar role within the hospitality/restaurant industry
  • A Hospitality Degree or Diploma
  • Experience in maintaining budgets and an understanding of financials, profit & loss and working in line with company objectives and KPI's
  • The ability to work a rotating 7- day roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Exceptional communication skills with employees, customers and clients.
  • Event Management experience, as we regularly host private functions, weddings, christenings and corporate events.
  • Natural leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
  • Understanding of financials and budget control – including labour control, stock management, wastage and cost of goods
  • Ability to drive exceptional customer service with a high level of attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to work in high pressure environments with strong decision-making skills and work with a sense of urgency

Responsibilities:

  • Effective management of daily restaurant operations, whilst upholding and ensuring consistent restaurant standards are met
  • High level of communication skills – ability to deliver quality customer service to employees, customers and external guests
  • Recruitment of all staff including placing ads, screening, interviewing and reference checking
  • Hands on training of front of house staff initially and on an ongoing basis
  • Supervision of all staff during shifts
  • Management of daily restaurant bookings
  • Taking all calls in relation to events including meeting with potential customers
  • Booking and organising all events and functions
  • Managing and costing the menu with chef for all events and functions
  • Organising all restaurant maintenance required on a day to day basis
  • Placing all orders for front of house including drinks, alcohol and papergoods
